Life seems busier each day and with new bars, restaurants and exhibitions opening up every month, staying up to date can be difficult. So here’s a round up of the best events taking place in North and East London this month…

What: Forest Gate Community Garden

Bond with your baby with an inclusive set of practices to enhance playful interaction and communication to promote their healthy development. A great weekly morning out and a chance to meet like minded people. 

 

What: Abseiling at the ArcelorMittal Orbit

Where: Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, E20 2AD

When: Now until 30th September

Join the professionals from Wire and Sky for an unforgettable experience. The UK’s highest free-fall abseil on the UK’s tallest sculpture is the adrenaline-fuelled way to see London at 262 feet above the city. Open for those aged 14 and above – are you brave enough?

 

What: London, Sugar & Slavery: 10 Years

Where: Museum of London Docklands, West India Quay, Canary Wharf, E14 4AL

When: Now until 29th October

The London, Sugar & Slavery gallery opened in 2007 to mark the 200th anniversary of the end of slavery. Now this free event uses thousands of visitor comments to reflect on the gallery and its contents. A thought provoking and educational day out for all the family.

 

What: Mindful Triathlon

Where: Victoria Park, Grove Rd, E3 5TB

When: 23rd September

Wanderlust 108 is a triathlon unlike anything you’ve ever known. The event comprises a 5K run/walk, a 90-minute outdoor yoga session with a DJ and a 30-minute guided meditation. There will also be live music, food stalls, classes and workshops. 

 

What: Urban Rush

Where: Timber Lodge Café, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, E20 1DY

When: 1st October

Experience London like never before with this unique 15-mile run that takes you through the East End, along the River Thames and to the finish line in Putney! Either run alone or as part of a team and all finishers receive a goody bag, sports massage and much more!

 

What: The Cake & Bake Show

Where: ExCeL London, E16 1XL

When: 6-8 October

Brimming with all things baking, decorating and sugar craft, gain insight from celebrity experts and stock up on the latest baking equipment. A fabulously sweet day out there will also be lots more treats for your taste buds.

 

What: The National Wedding Show

Where: ExCeL London, E16 1XL

When: 21-22 October

The UK’s biggest wedding show is coming to ExCeL this autumn for the first time. Shop over 200 of the finest wedding suppliers in the South East and across the UK including wedding venues, florists, beautiful bridal wear, stationery and stylish menswear! A great day out for all brides-to-be.

 

What: Reasons To Be Cheerful

Where: Theatre Royal Stratford East, E15 1BN

When: 24 Oct – 4 Nov 2017

The ULTIMATE Ian Dury and The Blockheads musical! This punk rock musical and gritty coming of age tale will leave audiences with memories of a lifetime as it celebrates the infectious music of Ian Dury and the Blockheads. A great show that will have you rocking out in your seats.
